New Architecture
Macclesfield Methodist Church; Thornbury Centre, Bradford; Oakham Methodist/URC, Leics; Fulham Broadway, London.
We hear the story of Macclesfield Methodist Church, beginning with finding the right site to build, their relationship with architect and builders and onto a finished space serving church and community. For many it has been good to retain something of the original building in the new project, eg. a stained glass window.
The Thornbury Centre is an inspirational project. A huge range of community work takes place in the church building. The new design gave rise to extended relationships and work right across the local area.
Take a look at Oakham and Fulham, and hear how folk at Fulham have created accommodation on the premises which yields income for the upkeep of the building.
