CHAD – Church Action on Disability ( www.chaduk.org)

In this chapter we hear from Sean O'Donnell about the work of CHAD. This organisation works with Churches Together in England to enable congregations to address the issues of accessibility and disability. Look beyond the wheelchair or hearing aid; look at the whole person and address the obstacles to their participation in the life of the church and community.

CHAD would help a church to identify those it serves (beyond the existing Sunday congregation) and then would work with the architects to address community needs in design and space of the building.
